I've got some answers to post up from my <Formspring>:
What's your favorite color?
It varies on what kind of item I have. For example, my electronics I usually prefer a light/lime green (my laptop and cellphone are) but anything else I seem to obsess over beige and pastel pinks. It's sickening, I know.
Ahhhh the pink: I can't get away form it.
What is your favorite childhood fairytale?
Frankly, when I was child the only fairytale-related material I encountered were Disney movies. I loved Little Mermaid. It was not until late middle school and on that I dug into the public libraries in a reading frenzy.
Fairytales that I love now are "Donkey Girl" and "Goose Girl" (especially Shannon Hale's adaptation!) I'm not a fan of tragedies nor the rescue fairytales (like Snow White or Sleeping Beauty). I guess I lean towards girl-power tales, haha.
How'd you learn to draw?
I'm an International Business major so you can guess I can count the times I've taken an art class with half a hand.
I started drawing after watching Sailor Moon when I was 6 years old. I got so frustrated with some episodes that I drew alternate endings, and then SM fanart became a hobby as I collected Sailor Moon coloring books to trace. Eventually, however, I began to develop my own stories with my own characters and drawing them out was the only way to get them out of my head.
Nothing much has changed now, except I keep trying to closer and closer to these pictures connected to these troubled characters. I guess characteristics that make a drawing "good," like recognizable anatomy, non-funky color theory, and wrinkles on dresses, piggybacked along with maturity and too much free time.
